Nika Khotcholava spent years digging across Tbilisi's dance underground as a journalist and music obsessive, sourcing records through every available channel with compulsive regularity. The shift to DJ came through Left Bank, where he took on the Routes not Roots identity just as the club found its voice, both growing along the same arc. With it, he channels the deep, organic side of sound, grooves drawn from obscure margins rather than algorithmic consensus. The pitch-bending tells you everything: a refusal to let tracks exist as fixed objects, warping them into something more elastic and endlessly expansive.
